Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Researcher Level 1 or 2 within UCD School of Computer Science

The VistaMilk SFI Research Centre represents a unique collaboration between Agri-Food and information communications technology research institutes and leading Irish/multinational food and ICT companies. The VistaMilk research programme will develop new electronic monitoring and actuation technologies to transform an already world-class dairy sector into a global leader in sustainable Agri-Tech.

The successful candidate for this role will work on projects that use machine learning to extract insights from data generated from modern dairy farms including data from milking equipment, sensors worn by cows, and other relevant data. There will be a strong focus on time series data from sensors. There will also be an opportunity to mentor junior researchers and to take a leadership role working with project collaborators. The successful candidate will have a strong research track record in machine learning, demonstrated experience of applying machine learning techniques to build practical solutions, an interest in the agri-food domain, and strong project management skills.

PD1 salary: €38,631 - €44,658 per annum
or
PD2 salary: €45,942 - €50,030 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
