Energy Research Institute @ NTU invites applications for the position of Research Associate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a team to work with institute of higher learning (IHL) and commercial company to co-develop commercialization projects to achieve fire safety and management of grid connected chemical energy storage system
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluation chemical, thermal and/or electrical modelling and simulation of energy storage system (ESS)
  • Organize and lead weekly research meetings, updating of literature reviews and investigation results
  • Prepare and review quarterly and/or annual update and reports (technical and non-technical) for principal investigator (PI), co-PI and funding agencies
  • Coordinate, prepare and present project updates and research proposal to the stakeholders and funding agencies
  • Organize, and assist technical workshops, networking events and conferences (local and overseas)
  • Monitor and keep up to date the latest technology and trend in the research areas

Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent with minimum 3 years of proven working experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leading real-time digital simulator research projects in renewable energy and/or commercialization of research 
  • Well informed and knowledgeable in smart grid, distributed energy resources, power electronics related technology trends
  • Familiar with the local research grant application and funding agencies such as NRF, EMA, EDB, ESG, A*STAR etc. is advantageous
  • Hands-on experience in rapid prototyping and working experience with IHLs is preferred
  • Strong communication and cohesive teamwork skills to work with co-workers in the team to meet the KPIs
  • Able to work independently, pro-active and result driven
