Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (several posts) in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 502407), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Material Science or a related discipline, and a strong background in photophysics, design and synthesis of photoluminescent organometallic materials and its application to organic light-emitting diode (OLED). They should have a good publication track record, and experience in conducting and managing scientific research and demonstrated expertise in relevant research fields. Applicants should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and external parties including academics and industrial associations. The appointees will participate in a multidisciplinary research, which is a 5-year large-scale research supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission, to develop a big data/machine learning/scientific computing platform for discovery of novel photoluminescent materials and their applications in OLED industry. The project aims to transfer the success of research in luminescent materials and OLED to industrial application. Working off-campus may be required.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
