Description:

The Division of Cardiology, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto are seeking an experienced academic Cardiologist to lead a vibrant and productive Division of Cardiology. The division currently consists of 21 members and provides a full range of tertiary and quaternary cardiac services. The successful applicant must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The expected start date is February 1, 2021 or shortly thereafter.

The Division Head will be a leader and mentor, with established skills in the areas of clinical care, administration, education and/or research, clinical innovation and implementation, and change management. Major responsibilities for this position will include clinical, administrative and academic leadership; faculty recruitment, mentoring and career development and development of divisional goals and objectives to support the University, Hospital and Department’s strategic initiatives.

The successful candidate must have achieved prominence in their own career and must hold an MD degree, have or be eligible for certification in Cardiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have or be eligible for licensure in Ontario.

Estimated compensation will be in the range of $350,000 - $400,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applications will be accepted until November 30, 2020.
