Applications are invited for the above post in the Department of Architecture and Built Environment (ABE), under the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The applicants are expected to have a desire for interdisciplinary teaching in the field of architecture. The successful candidate will be positioned in the Department of Architecture and Built Environment and the Center for Sustainable Energy Technologies, at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China.

Candidates must hold a Master Degree (or equivalent) in relevant disciplines of architecture or architectural design, architectural technologies, built environment, or urban design. Holding a PhD Degree is not essential. It is required for the candidates to have focus on architecture design studio, digital architecture/design, environmental design, urban design, or architectural tectonics. Evidence of ability to teach across multiple modules of architecture design studio and other taught modules of architecture tectonics, digital architecture or practice and management is desirable. Experience of teaching and tutorial or design studio work at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English-speaking institution is also essential. It is expected that applicants will have a successful track record of teaching and practice experience in associated disciplines of the built environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, participate in assessing and examining students, supervise final year students, perform high quality teaching and extend collaborations with industry partners. The candidate is expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers, using high level skills and a range of media. The role holder should independently plan and implement extra-curricular activities and exhibitions, and devise applications for new external engagement events as part of the strategies of the Department.

Salary will be within the range of RMB 323,198 to RMB 440,485 per annum depending on qualifications and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including employment support allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of up to 3 years with effect from February 2021 or thereafter as soon as possible. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement, subject to revised terms and conditions.
