The Center is dedicated for the advancement of biotechnology research to develop sustainable desert agro-ecosystem suitable to the arid zones of the world, UAE in particular. The main objective of the research at KCGEB is to develop plants/crops adaptable to the environmental stresses such as drought, temperature, and salinity. The Center uses omics-based research and gene discovery (i) to understand the mechanisms by which important desert plants deal with various stresses, and (ii) to exploit the promising candidate genes for the development of stress-tolerant plants/crops.

The KCGEB is seeking a Research Assistant Professor in Plant Molecular Physiology to focus on basic research and practical applications of plant molecular Physiology to benefit crop improvement. Conduct cutting-edge research in plant molecular in line with the main objective of the Center. Accomplish state-of-the-art technologies in molecular Physiology that benefit the improvement of crops-of-interest of the region. Independent planning and accomplishment of molecular Physiology experiments. Designing, management and execution of innovative experiments in laboratory, greenhouse, and field conditions.
