The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) is dedicated to contributing to The Australian National University’s reputation for excellence in research and research-led education, bringing together expertise across a range of areas to reimagine the role of engineering and computing for future generations. CECS is a diverse and vibrant community dedicated to discovery and to making knowledge matter. Our academics and students are engaged in ground-breaking, cutting-edge research, in exciting areas such as renewable energy, robotics, telecommunications, biomaterials, human-machine interaction, and artificial intelligence.
Our focus on excellence is more than an aspiration, it is embedded in our performance expectations for Academic staff within the College, through the development of the Academic Performance Standards. These standards are an integral component of our vision to reimagine Engineering and Computer Science research and education, and to continue to propel us on our trajectory of becoming a world-class institution in this space.
The CECS Academic Performance Standards provide an overview of key performance indicators they apply to the various academic levels, and support our principles and values of: collegiality, collaborative teamwork, common strategic intent, nurturing early career academics and acting with purpose and professionalism.
The Research School of Electrical, Energy and Materials Engineering is a creative mix of staff and students that embrace the breadth of engineering professions from materials and manufacturing, to robotics, telecommunications and systems, and control of massively complex networks.
Photovoltaics is a booming, $400 billion/year industry that is rapidly transforming the global energy landscape. It plays a pivotal role in reducing global greenhouse gas emissions and lowering electricity prices.
ANU conducts research on new materials and technology to continue to drive down the cost of photovoltaics and develop new applications. Perovskite technology holds tremendous potential for photovoltaic applications and offers many opportunities for innovative research and technology development.
ANU researchers are on the leading edge of research in this field and have made numerous significant contributions, including the demonstration of world record efficiencies for silicon-perovskite tandem devices.
We are seeking up to three (3) Research Fellows to contribute to research in photovoltaics, specifically perovskite and perovskite/silicon tandem technology. Applications are particularly invited from researchers whose expertise is in the areas of materials science, semiconductor physics and devices, chemistry or related disciplines.
Funding for these positions is available for a maximum of two (2) years.
Further information on the projects that will fund these positions is available at https://www.perovskitegroup.com.au/
