Job Purpose

To assist with the implementation of the Banner Student Records system for assessment and module registration purposes across BPP University.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To co-ordinate deployment of the Banner SIS to the Assessment Office of the University, liaising closely with the Banner Assessment and Attendance team, the University Assessment Office, and the Key Programme Stakeholders
  • To act as a senior functional user of the system and to support other users across the business
  • ·To ensure all Banner programme and assessment-related setup data in the system is accurate and fit for purpose to meet core Registry business requirements
  • To be responsible for rigorous testing of the system for any new products/assessments to ensure assessment outcomes are correctly recorded
  • Proactively and independently developing a detailed knowledge of BPP's regulatory framework, programmes and courses
  • To be responsible for student cohort module registration in Banner; liaising closely with both the Schools and the University Scheduling teams to ensure timely and accurate data is recorded in Banner each term
  • To be responsible for activating and linking modules to faculty and School administration staff for the purposes of student attendance tracking
  • Liaising closely with the University Scheduling team to ensure accuracy of student groups and modules
  • To carry out staff training on the system for Registry and other staff
  • To create user-support documentation across the whole functional range of the system
  • Complying with the GDPR
  • Data quality checks and data cleansing

Candidate criteria

Essential

  1. Familiarity with Banner or another similar SIS, such as SITS
  2. Well organised and self-disciplined with the ability to prioritise under pressure
  3. Able to build good working relationships across all levels
  4. Able to work in a team and independently
  5. Able to work under pressure, sometimes to short deadlines
  6. Attention to detail
  7. Well organised, conscientious, and reliable
  8. Problem solving skills
  9. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  10. Advanced computer literacy (ECDL or equivalent)

Desirable

  1. Experience of working in higher education (HE)
  2. Experience of working in a HE Academic Registry or HE Quality Assurance environment
  3. In depth knowledge of Higher Education course structures and particularly BPP products and services
  4. Experience of working with/adapting to change
