Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Ref.: 502344), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Engineering or a closely related field. They should have excellent project management skills; the ability to work independently and in a team; a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese; and good coordination, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in management and development of large-scale research projects is highly preferred.

The appointee will play a key role in supporting the establishment and management of a new research centre on the development of AI and robotics for the garment manufacturing industry. He/She will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including overseas academic partners; coordinate multiple research projects in collaboration with different parties; prepare documents such as project plans and reports; and perform other duties as assigned. He/She may be required to work off-campus and work outside normal office hours and on weekends.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
