Singapore Centre for 3D Printing invites applications for the position of Project Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the PI to manage the research project
  • Design printing plans and drawings using CAD and print steel specimens by using a DED process
  • Examine micro-structures of specimens and conduct mechanical tests of specimens
  • Write progress research reports and research papers for publication

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Experience in metal additive manufacturing or relevant manufacturing processes
  • Advanced laboratory experience involving metallographic examination of material microstructures and mechanical evaluation of material properties
  • Good interpersonal skills, excellent teamwork awareness, and good communication and writing in English
  • Strong responsibility for research work and project management

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
