The Research Fellow in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering will work to conduct research and development of III-Nitrides based epistructure and devices.

Job Description

  • Develop III-Nitrides Gunn epistructures using MBE growth process
  • Characterize the epilayers using tools such as AFM, XRD, PL, Hall, CV SIMS, TEM, etc for the structural, electrical and optical properties
  • Thorough analysis of the results and publish in high impact factor scientific journals
  • Independent handling of the project to meet the deliverables timely
  • Writing technical reports to the funding agencies
  • Support PhD students research projects

Job Requirements

  • Ph.D in physics, materials science or electrical and electronic engineering
  • Practical experience in semiconductor epitaxial growth systems such as MBE and MOCVD
  • Direct experience on semiconductor growth (particularly III-Nitrides) would be an advantage
  • Self-driven and motivated person who is a good team player
  • Fluent in English and competent writing skills

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
