Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Laboratory for Synthetic Chemistry and Chemical Biology (Laboratory) in the Department of Clinical Oncology (Ref.: 502335), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

The selected candidate will work in a company incorporated by the University of Hong Kong that was established to administer and support the University’s innovation endeavours.  The Laboratory is a research unit which integrates chemical science and biomedical science for the development of new molecular medicines and diagnostics tools for the treatment and analysis of human diseases with a focus on cancer.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Science, Chemistry or a related discipline, with a good research publication record. Research experience in at least one of the areas including bioinorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, Chinese medicine, natural products, metal-based therapeutics and diagnostics, bioimaging, mass spectrometry, proteomics, metabolomics, cancer biology and pharmacology, cancer stem cells and animal models of cancers would be desirable.  Applicants should also be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team. The appointee will conduct research projects on chemical biology and drug discovery in a multidisciplinary team of chemists, biologists and clinicians.  He/She will also assist in conducting translational research projects and clinical trials.

A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
