Description:

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, in partnership with The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), is seeking a psychiatrist to support its Schizophrenia Division. Opportunities are present both in early phase and more chronic phase inpatient work helping people with schizophrenia and related disorders.  Full-time and locum positions are available. CAMH is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and the successful applicant will need to obtain a full-time academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine. The expected start date of appointment is November 15, 2020 or as mutually agreed upon.

The successful applicant must possess strong clinical assessment and psychiatry skills, along with a desire to be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team. Candidates with some experience with education, CPA, quality improvement or research would be an asset. Experience working on inpatient units helping patients with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia would also be an asset. The successful applicant must hold MD and FRCPC qualifications (or equivalent specialist designation) and have, or be eligible for licensure as a psychiatrist in the province of Ontario as stipulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

The salary range is $300,000 - $400,000 (minimum). Compensation will vary with the qualifications and job description of the candidate with funding coming from clinical billings (based on fee for service), and variety of other sources including sessional and academic funding.
