Position Description    
With a specific goal of advancing diversity in scientific research and discovery, the Blavatnik Institute, located on the quadrangle at Harvard Medical School, invites applications for up to four tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor positions in the life sciences. We are looking for early-career scientists taking molecular and quantitative approaches in the broad fields of biological and biomedical sciences, with a track record of research productivity and a demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and equity. Departments participating in this initiative include Biological Chemistry & Molecular Pharmacology, Biomedical Informatics, Cell Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology, Neurobiology and Systems Biology. The search process will include a seminar as well as meetings with faculty and students, after which successful candidates will work with the search committee and school leadership to select an optimal departmental affiliation(s).

Successful candidates will become members of the training faculty in one or more of the Harvard University Ph.D. Programs, such as the umbrella Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) Program, and/or more topic specific programs including: Biophysics; Chemical Biology; Immunology; Microbiology; Neuroscience; Systems, Synthetic, & Quantitative Biology; and Virology, which all attract extraordinary graduate students.

Basic Qualifications    
A Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D. or M.D. is required in cellular, molecular, chemical, computational, or physical sciences.

This statement should include three sections uploaded as one PDF: (1) a description of your research accomplishments (length limit 500 words); (2) a big picture view of your chosen field highlighting the important unanswered questions (length limit 300 words); and (3) a description of your planned future research and long-term goals (maximum 1500 words plus one page for figures, not including references).
