We are seeking a qualified Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a team with an international reputation for producing high quality research in truth discovery on the noisy Web. This is part of an ARC (Australian Research Council) Discovery Project in the Intelligent Computing Laboratory led by Professor Michael Sheng.

About the Project
The main objective of this project is to develop innovative research for effective and efficient truth discovery on the noisy Web.You will have completed a PhD, or thesis submitted, within a discipline that is relevant to the areas of computer science. You will be experienced in data analytics, Web technologies, data mining, machine learning, and knowledge discovery.
You will have experience as an Early Career Researcher who is able to work both independently and in a team, engage with different stakeholders from PhD students, senior academic, to industry partners.
You will work with Prof. Michael Sheng, Prof. Jian Yang of Macquarie University, Dr Wei Emma Zhang of University of Adelaide, as well as Prof Schahram Dustdar of TU Wien. As part of this activity you will be expected to take an active part in the overall activities of Prof. Michael Sheng’s research group, to present research progress regularly at the group meetings and to publish papers in well regarded computing conferences and journals. Where appropriate you may also be asked to assist with the supervision of PhD research students.
To be considered for this position, applicants must address the selection criteria below, and attach your CV (including a list of two referees), a statement of research interests and achievements.
- A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline (or thesis submitted)
- Demonstrated research excellence in computing as evidenced by ongoing publications in top tier journals and conferences in data analytics, data mining, Web technologies, machine learning, and knowledge discovery
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in supervision of PhD students
- Experience in grant proposal development
