Description
The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of clinical vascular surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They will also be certified by the American Board of Surgery for vascular surgery and, ideally, for general surgery.

Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students, residents, fellows and others in the operating room, on inpatient rounds and in the outpatient clinic.

Clinical responsibilities may include the full range of open vascular and endovascular surgery procedures in a tertiary-care hospital outfitted with a hybrid OR.

This position will include leadership and administrative responsibilities commensurate with serving as Chief of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, a full member institution of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Candidates with fellowship training will be preferred. The Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania offers academic opportunities including education of vascular fellows and residents as well as general surgical residents and medical students. Research opportunities exist in clinical research, clinical trials, translational genomic research, and/or health services research depending on the interests of the candidate.
