Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration, to commence on January 1, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in social work or a related field and have strong record of research and publications. We welcome all areas of social work and human services research. Preference will be given to those with expertise in counseling, family social work, youth work, community work and social policy, and those with five years of direct practice experience. The Department values diverse research methodologies. We are particularly committed to upgrading our expertise in quantitative methods, and welcome applicants with relevant expertise. The appointee is expected to maintain an active research programme, and be responsible for teaching courses and supervising students at both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as contributing to the administration of academic programmes.
A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
