INSTRUCTOR, Mechanical Engineering (multiple openings), to assume an integral role on the 2.009: Product Engineering Processes and 2.00b: Toy Product Design teaching teams. Responsibilities will include mentoring students and working on course development and course materials preparation.

2.009: Product Engineering Processes is a rigorous capstone class for undergraduates in the Mechanical Engineering program. It brings together everything students have learned along the way to develop a market-ready product together with a team of classmates. This popular class gives students a taste of real-world product development.

2.00b: Toy Product Design provides students with an overview of design for entertainment and play as well as opportunities in creative product design and community service. Students develop ideas for new toys that serve clients in the community and work in teams with local sponsors and with experienced mentors on a themed toy design project.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree; experience with the course 2.009; knowledge of product development, graphic design, and prototyping techniques; experience working with students; photography and videography experience; knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, SolidWorks, and Fusion 360; familiarity with the use of digital tools such as vinyl cutters, laser cutters, and 3D printers.  Seek someone who is willing to work long hours and enjoys challenging limits.  Job #18810

This is a full time, one semester position subject to renewal depending on the teaching needs of the department.
