RESEARCH, DATA, AND TECHNICAL ANALYST, Consortium on Financing Higher Education (COFHE), to design, build, secure, and maintain research data systems used by COFHE.  These data systems are fed by ongoing collections from member schools; public data sources; and student, parent, and alumni surveys.  COFHE collects, synthesizes, and analyzes institutional data to support member campus decision-making.  Will support COFHE’s core research activities by collecting, testing, validating, securing, and distributing data on admissions, financial aid, student outcomes, faculty demographics, and student enrollments; provide technical training to staff and members; and deliver technical solutions to continue refining and automating labor-intensive business processes.  Key activities include maintaining/managing COFHE’s SharePoint environment: monitoring and improving the quality of data management and security procedures; working on surveys and other research projects as assigned; assisting with managing COFHE’s desktop computing; supporting data operations, including data modeling, database development, and building ETL processes; and improving and maintaining core Python programs. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; two years’ experience; proficiency with a scripting language (Python, Perl, Ruby), SQL, and Microsoft SharePoint (on-premise and online); familiarity with at least one of the following--Linux and BASH scripting, Oracle/Microsoft SQL Server, SCCM and Group Policy, and/or Windows PowerShell; excellent analytical, project management, and written and verbal communication skills; background in and experience working with high-level security procedures; self-motivation; ability to initiate and manage multiple tasks under competing deadlines, explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, and work as a contributing member of a team  

PREFERRED:  master’s degree, ability to write and automate test plans, work experience in higher education, and experience with data warehousing concepts and migrating from on-premises SharePoint to SharePoint Online.  Job #18535-7
