As Year Leader for BA Graphic Design Communication, you’ll assume responsibility for the academic leadership and management of the year and you’ll also take responsibility for the design, development and delivery of the curriculum.

The role requires that you preside over the day to day management of the year including all areas of learning, teaching and assessment of students as well as resource allocation whilst observing and implementing the policies and procedures of the University and the College. The successful applicant will play a key role in the recruitment and ongoing development of the course and the implementation of a supportive digital and making skills strategy as part of ongoing academic enhancement initiatives.

Your profile

A higher degree (e.g. MA) qualification appropriate to the subject area of Design, experience of course administration, assessment processes and procedures are essential for the role. Possession of a PhD in Design or related discipline is desirable. To inspire students and staff alike, you must be a leading practitioner in your field and up to date with the latest developments in the industry. You’ll maintain strong links with design practitioners from a wide range of professions, subjects and disciplines and build collaborative links with a range of institutions and employers. You’ll have confidence in managing large groups and communicating in a range of learning environments, including large and small studio spaces and lecture theatre and seminar spaces.
