Job Description

A 2-year Postdoctoral Researcher position is opened in the Department of Biology in the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) to work in the field of molecular pharmacology and signaling pathways of cell surface hormone receptors.

The successful candidate will work with Dr. Mohammed Akli Ayoub on screening and profiling of the anti-hypertensive camel milk-derived bioactive peptides with a specific focus on targeting angiotensin II receptors expressed in various cell lines. The expected effective date is January 2021.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology and any closely related disciplines.

Preferred Qualification

The applicant must demonstrate a solid scientific background in the field of cell signaling and the pharmacology of cell surface hormone receptors. Moreover, strong experimental skills in the following techniques and approaches: cell culture and transfection, cell fractionation, protein extraction, separation, and quantification, SDS-PAGE and western blot, ELISA, chromatography techniques. In addition, a solid basis in luminescence and fluorescence and their applied techniques such as BRET (Bioluminescence Resonance Energy Transfer) is highly required.
