As part of the continuing recruitment on a strategic project ‘Nonlinear modelling and control of wave energy devices’, funded by Science Foundation Ireland, an 8-month postdoctoral position (with possible follow-on contract) is now available at the Centre for Ocean Energy Research (COER) at Maynooth University. The role will principally involve the application of advanced control techniques to wave energy systems and may include associated technologies (to control) such as estimation and forecasting. At this stage in the project, there is a focus on experimental evaluation, in a wave-tank environment.

This post presents significant opportunities for career development, in relation to sourcing of independent research funding, research management and supervision, and mentoring in these aspects will be provided.

Salary

Post-doctoral Researcher: €37,874 per annum pro rata (1 point)

Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.

*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the Postdoctoral Researcher pay scale.
