About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a mental health clinician/academic to teach into the SCU Online programs, with a focus on the Master of Mental Health. The Lecturer will contribute to the advancement of contemporary mental healthcare, sharing evidenced-based theories and knowledge and supporting students, from a variety of backgrounds that include nurses, social workers and psychologists, to be well-rounded mental health professionals. The successful candidate will join an engaged and innovative learning community and undertake student centred teaching activity.

This position is offered as Teaching Scholar role, with a focus of teaching, scholarship of teaching and service activities.

The successful candidate may negotiate a placement at any one of our picturesque locations, the beachside Gold Coast campus, the green rainforests of Lismore campus, or the best of both worlds with a Coffs Harbour-based appointment.

A remuneration package, based on 50% appointment (18.75 hours per week), of up to $69,046 per annum is available, inclusive of base salary $49,825-$59,014 per annum and 17% employer contribution to superannuation.  Full-time equivalent remuneration package is up to $138,092.

About you

We are seeking applications from mental health specialists with extensive clinical or teaching experience, or a combination of the two. You may have a qualifications and professional practice in social work, psychology, nursing, allied health, or another discipline relevant to mental health.

To be successful in this role applicants should be passionate, and demonstrate commitment to, enhancing mental health practices. You will have an energetic approach to engage students within online environments with innovative curricula and use of contemporary educational technologies.

The successful candidate will enable our students to utilise research in evidenced-based theories in health practice, and participate in the delivery of holistic and multi-faceted care, to enhance patient outcomes.
