Research Associate - CDB/AFCRI (CS)
The Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of animal husbandry, mouse models of liver cancer, protein biochemistry, cell culture techniques, immunobiology, cellular senescence, and metabolism. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include investigation of the regulation of gluconeogenic metabolism in hepatic cancer cells using a wide variety of approaches that include animal models, metabolic analysis, metabolomics, immunophenotyping, biochemistry, and cell biology.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, familiarize themselves with related literature and experimental techniques, prepare manuscripts and proposals for extramural funding, present research findings at international meetings, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career training workshops offered by the University.
Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience.
