Responsibilities

This role will be a focal point of Race Equality related activity, coordinating the application process for the Race Equality Charter (REC) award at institution-level and supporting Schools with race equality activity.
The REC Manager will work with senior staff across City to ensure that the REC requirements are embedded in City’s policies and communications. The role holder will also work closely with the Equality and Diversity Manager, the REC self-assessment team and City’s Equality Committee. The role holder will support the development of the REC application and Action Plan over the next year. 

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have experience of working in the equality, diversity and inclusion field with particular focus on race equality. Experience of analysing and interpreting large and complex data sets for relevance and meaning and communicating findings through a range of mediums is essential.

Candidates will also need to have experience of similar charter application processes such as Athena SWAN, Stonewall or Investors in People (IIP) resulting in successful award. Experience in HE or other large, complex organisation.
