The Alibaba-NTU Singapore Joint Research Institute invites applications for the position of Research Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with research team to focus on algorithms and platforms for effective interaction with multimedia content
- Use multiple modalities to create video segmentation models and answer questions in video
- Create deep learning models for video summarization and content detection in video
- Collaborate with business units who consume our research assets to integrate them in actual products
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering
- Research experience in video segmentation, AI for digital storytelling
- Proficient in Python and C/C++ programming
- Familiar with state-of-arts machine learning and deep learning algorithms

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.
The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility:
• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university.
Terms and Conditions:
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
