Energy Research Institute @ NTU invites applications for the position of Research Associate.
Job Description:
- Establish Mechanical and Thermal Capabilities
- Lead Mechanical and Thermal modelling and simulation activities for electrical systems (power converter, energy storage systems etc.)
- Maintain a good understanding of industrial standards (aerospace & marine) of electrical system
Job Requirements:
- MS degree in Mechanical Engineering (Product Design)
- Knowledge in commercial solutions development i.e. from concept to final product
- Strong technical knowledge and experience working with different CAD software like SOLIDWORKS and ANSYS
- Designing for functional safety, preferably within the aerospace industry (DO-254/DO-178 experience would be a strong advantage)
- Knowledge on various manufacturing methods engineering
- Hands on with prototyping and testing
- Knowledge on verification and validation
- Good Knowledge in thermo-mechanical and electro-thermal system design and development
- Familiarity with different industrial standards for electrical system is an essential and knowledge/exposure of aerospace and marine standards will be advantageous
- Knowledge and exposure in working in multi-domain team (Electrical, Mechanical, Control and Thermal)
- In general, broad interests across engineering disciplines and a sound understanding of interactions with other engineering disciplines
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, global team environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills with ability to drive customer requirements
- Ability to achieve targets while working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to monitor social, industrial and academic developments of technology and develop technology development plans

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
