School of Computer Science and Engineering invites applications for the position of Research Assistant.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct research on neural network abstraction schemes, probabilistic (or weighted) automata-based explainable modeling for AI systems, multi-type consistency evaluation towards complex probabilistic systems, especially for complex AI software
  • Responsible for adversarial attack and decision uncertainty analysis of AI software and criteria-guided software testing for deep learning systems
  • Conduct research on property specification, semantics interpretation, robustness enhancement, abstraction-scheme-based global interpretability and adversarial detection for AI systems

Requirements:

  • Possess Bachelor’s degree in Information and Computing Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering or related discipline
  • Expertise in software modeling and specification, automated verification and testing of complex probabilistic systems; probability theory, mathematical logic, probabilistic graphical models, theory and foundation of computer science
  • Research experience in  theorem proving, automated software verification, AI software testing, analysis of timed and probabilistic systems and related areas
  • Excellent communication, reading and writing skills; experience of top-tier conference or journal publication
  • Able to conduct research and write academic reports and papers independently and within teams

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
