Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Hematology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of sepsis or other disorders in which neutrophil or neutrophil extracellular traps are key. Applicants must have an M.D. degree or equivalent such as D.O., M.B.B.S and similar,  and be board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology or board-eligible and within five years of completing fellowship.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, pediatric residents and pediatric hematology/oncology fellows, as well as PhD students and post-doctoral fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient and outpatient service in pediatric hematology. A focus on clinical participation in the hematologic guidance of care of pediatric sepsis patients combined with ongoing research in this area is desirable.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include research in the area of inflammatory causes for thrombotic disorders. In this tenure-track position, the successful candidate will be expected to obtain extramural funding from grants and other sources and develop a strong record of scholarly publications.
