The Department of Economics and Finance is a significant part of the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences. The Department has more than 37 full-time members of staff and approximately 1000 students. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), the Department’s research output was rated in the top 20 by research intensity by the Economics and Econometrics panel.

The Department of Economics and Finance is anticipating further growth over the coming years and we are seeking to recruit for a Lecturer in Economics.

Applicants are sought from any area within Economics and be near a completion of a PhD and possess high quality teaching experience in addition to a relevant research profile in Economics. While an interest in teaching in any area of Economics is welcome, the Department has a particular need for people interested in teaching Housing Economics and Finance and/or Macroeconomics. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be prepared to take on some administration such as leading a module.

The successful applicant will also be expected to participate in at least one of the College research centres, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability and Global Lives, or a University Research Institute.

Excellent support in terms of computer and data facilities, as well as the opportunity for potential funding for conferences and other direct research costs, is provided to members of staff.

Informal enquiries can be made to Head of Department, Dr John Hunter (John.Hunter@brunel.ac.uk).

Closing date for applications: Sunday 20th September 2020
