Job Details
A Research Fellow position is currently available in the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute - Environmental Process Modelling Centre (NEWRI-EPMC).
Job Responsibilities
- Support research work on UAV-based remote sensing of turbidity in coastal waters
- Support research work on image analysis for the quantification of water quality based on Convolution Neural Network (CNN) algorithms
- Work synergistically with PI in data acquisition, data management and data analytics using machine learning and neural networks
- Summarize the findings in this project and produce the presentations and reports
Job Requirements
- PhD degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science and Computer Engineering, or other related disciplines
- Knowledge and research experience on either UAV-based remote sensing or image processing with Convolutional Neural Network analysis
- Highly motivated person who is able to work independently
- Good communication skills & team player
- Strong interest in research work
- Highly driven, independent, and resourceful

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.
The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility:
• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university.
Terms and Conditions:

• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
