PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE, PRIMARY CARE, MIT Medical, to be responsible for extensive in-person and telephone patient flow and appointment scheduling in a highly visible position. Responsibilities include handling front desk duties (e.g., check in, copay collection, obtaining accurate insurance eligibility information, etc.) and administration ( e.g., phone calls, data entry, insurance reviews, filing, etc.); scheduling and coordinating patient encounters (appointments) and procedures within and across providers, service areas, and institutions; collaborating with referral providers and practices to facilitate management of complex patient issues; and providing effective customer service that supports departmental operations.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least two years’ related experience such as customer service or in an administrative role; strong telephone, organizational, customer service, and follow through skills; and math skills that include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with accuracy. Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; collaborate with diverse internal and external constituencies; and communicate effectively and diplomatically with patients, clinicians, and other professional staff. Seek a self-starter who is able to work independently upon training completion. PREFERRED: associate’s degree or higher in communications, business, or other relevant field; experience in a health care setting; knowledge of medical terminology, pre-admission and pretesting requirements, insurance regulations and form completion, billing systems, and deductible/copays; experience in a busy medical practice setting; ability to be trained in CPT and ICD10 coding; insurance verification experience.
