Research Assistant, Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with extensive experience in plant genetic engineering and molecular biology to join the Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. The selected candidate will be working on a project involving trait improvement in a forage crop using genome modification technologies.
A Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or a closely related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.
The position requires significant experience in transformation of different plant species and strong analytical ability. Experience in abiotic stress will be an advantage. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in genome modification technologies.
Desired skills also include construction of complex plant expression vectors, plant tissue culture, gene transfer, molecular characterization of transgenic plants. Knowledge in plant synthetic biology, metabolism, physiology and genomic regulation are also important. The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (both verbal and written) skills, including a strong record of peer-reviewed publications.
