The University of Chicago's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is searching for a physician-scientist faculty member. Academic rank and track will be determined based on qualifications. The successful applicant will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, and will undertake extramurally-funded basic or translational research on fibroids, endometriosis, PPROM, preeclampsia, gynecologic cancers, infertility, and/or related areas in the reproductive sciences, including fundamental mechanisms of disease, new diagnostic tools, or novel therapeutic interventions. Current areas of research emphasis in the department include gynecologic cancers, sexual and reproductive health well-being, preeclampsia, metabolism, outcomes research, and cancer biology. We anticipate that appointees will develop close interactions with other basic science and clinical departments, divisions, and institutes at the University of Chicago, Argonne National Laboratory, and/or the Marine Biological Laboratory as part of an effort to strengthen and diversify a collegial group of investigators interested in major questions relevant to the advancement of human health. Wet lab facilities are available; robust core infrastructure is also available to support research through the Biological Sciences Division Office of Shared Research Facilities, the Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Ludwig Center for Cancer Metastasis, and the Duchossois Family Institute. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students. We especially welcome applicants that are board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) have completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. To be considered, those interested must apply online at the University of Chicago's Academic Career website: https://tinyurl.com/PhysSciOBGYNUofC. Applicants must upload a CV, a research statement including accomplishments and future plans, and three peer-reviewed publications or preprints.

Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
