Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Director of Client and Computing Services, the Senior IT Manager is responsible for IT Operations in the areas of end user desktop and mobile computing services, and educational technology. The position will supervise a staff of IT and AV professionals, and will provide leadership, guidance, and high level technical expertise. In computing, the Senior IT Manager oversees and directs configuration, deployment, management, policy-setting, and security of computing hardware, networks and software and applications. Ensures reliability and service continuity in heavily-trafficked campus facilities that provide round the clock access to networked resources. Position requires a high level of competence in managing Windows Active Directory; collaborates with colleagues to administer Widows servers and server based, and cloud hosted applications and services. In educational technology, provides direction and management of audiovisual, media and event technology systems, services, and support. Position ensures the highest level of system performance for academic and highly visible public events.  Additionally, the position collaborates with colleagues on IT security and privacy policy enforcement, and acts as technical lead for complex large scale projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a diverse technical landscape, keeps abreast of trends in technology, and enjoys empowering users. Qualifications:

A Bachelor Degree, preferably in Computer Science or similar field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experiences required.  Prior leadership and supervisory experience is required.  Applicant must have proven skills successfully providing technical support for Windows, MAC and mobile operating systems and supporting users in large Active Directory domain environments.  Experience with Windows domain management tools and client server and cloud based applications management.  Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills required.  Proven ability to problem-solve effectively and independently.  Experience in, and knowledge of, some or all of the following technologies is also needed; video projection systems, large format displays, desktop and mobile devices, video cameras (various format), sound systems, analog and digital media players, 3D printers and other media related technologies.
