We are seeking a part-time Research Fellow (0.7 FTE) to join the Department of Education, Social Work and Community Wellbeing in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. The post is funded by a research grant from the National Institute for Health Research – School for Social Care Research. It is fixed-term for 24 months. A willingness to work flexibly is desirable. The post will be based at Coach Lane Campus.

You will have a PhD in the social sciences, social care, allied health professions or a related field. You should also have experience in conducting research and/or delivering services in collaboration with people who access services and their families.

The post is associated with the Bathing Adaptations in the Homes of Older Adults (BATH-OUT-2 study) which is a multi-centre national study evaluating the clinical and cost effectiveness of housing adaptations to bathing facilities for older adults. The project includes three workstreams including a Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT), an economic evaluation and a process evaluation. The main responsibilities for this post will be in relation to the process evaluation. This will involve conducting qualitative interviews with a range of stakeholders (mainly social care and housing professionals) and a national survey of all local authorities in England and leading the analysis of the interviews and survey.  You will be a key member of the BATH-OUT-2 Research Team and will carry out a range of research activities including data collection and analysis, project management and a provide a high level of research support to the Principal Investigator and the process evaluation lead to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
