About School of Social Sciences (SSS)

Social of Social Sciences (SSS) has nearly 100 faculty members and more than 1,700 undergraduates who major in the four degree programmes the School offers: Economics, Psychology, Public Policy and Global Affairs, and Sociology. There are more than 180 graduate students in our PhD and MA programmes (by research), and MSc programmes in Applied Economics and Gerontology. The School’s holistic and rigorous education aims to prepare our students with analytical and critical capacities that can be applied in the classroom and future careers. Apart from being deeply engaged in their disciplinary pursuits, our faculty members are also at the forefront of cutting-edge research between the social sciences and other disciplines. The candidate will play an integral role at the Clinical Brain Lab at NTU Psychology that applies neuropsychological principles to understand brain functions/dysfunctions with the use of neurocognitive assessment and neuroimaging techniques.

Job Description:

  • Perform systematic literature search (e.g. on neuroimaging studies of reading, mathematical processing, or related topics)
  • Review and summarize study information
  • Assist with screening, coding, data extraction and quality checks for neuroimaging meta-analysis.
  • Assist with behavioural and neuroimaging data collection
  • Assist with grant project administrative duties
  • Assist with recruitment, laboratory bookings, health and safety screening and scheduling of participants.
  • Assist with grant project administrative duties
  • Administer informed consent form, debriefing form, payment, and questionnaires to the participants
  • Assist the experimenter with the study and follow up with participants, if needed
  • Assist with data organization and storage
  • Assist with pre-analysis of behavioral and imaging data 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Biology, Neuroscience, or related discipline
  • Experience in conducting empirical research with human participants (e.g., in cognitive psychology, neuropsychology).
  • Knowledge of software used for psychological research (e.g. E-Prime, Qualtrics) is preferred.
  • Experience in working with young children is a plus.
  • Experience and/or strong interest in neuroimaging, cognitive neuroscience, or neurophysiological techniques preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to work within given deadlines
  • Self-directed learner who effectively picks up relevant skills as needed
