Description

The University of Chicago's Departments of Radiology and Neurology seek a neurointerventional specialist for a full-time faculty appointment. The appointee will have responsibilities in adult and pediatric neurointerventional radiology including diagnostic and interventional vascular procedures, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty, RF ablation treatments, CT or fluoro guided biopsies, and pain procedures (nerve root, nerve, facet blocks). Call will be shared for stroke interventional coverage. The University of Chicago Medicine is a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, a Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and a referral center for numerous neurologic and otolaryngologic disorders. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, participation in multidisciplinary conferences, and scholarly activity. The appointee will contribute non-neurointerventional clinical or research activities corresponding to their primary specialty.

Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. Primary appointment will be in the specialist’s primary certification department (Radiology or Neurology), with secondary appointment(s) as appropriate.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) be Board certified or eligible in Radiology or Neurology, 2) have completed an interventional neuroradiology fellowship or equivalent, and 3) have an active medical license in the state of Illinois. Leadership skills are desirable.
