Position Description
The Department of Microbiology at Harvard Medical School (http://micro.hms.harvard.edu) invites applications for tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The positions offer outstanding scholarly and scientific resources in a collegial and collaborative environment. There are exceptionally strong ties to related departments throughout Harvard University, the Harvard affiliated teaching hospitals, and the greater Boston biomedical research community. The positions provide the opportunity to join a vibrant community of microbiologists at Harvard University interested in molecular and quantitative approaches to fundamental microbiology, and the development of countermeasures against bacterial and viral infections, including antimicrobials and vaccines.
The successful candidate(s) will become a member(s) of the Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program (http://www.hms.harvard.edu/dms/bbs), and, if appropriate, the Program in Virology (https://www.hms.harvard.edu/dms/virology). Both are campus-wide degree programs dedicated to training and mentoring the next generation of microbiologists. Program members are afforded the opportunity to teach exceptional graduate and medical students interested in microbiology and medical sciences.
