Energy Research Institute @ NTU invites applications for the position of Research Fellow

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop an efficient processing route to delaminate, extract, and reuse the components
  • Perform chemical and physical analyses to characterize the extracted components as well as the processing route
  • Utilise extracted components for novel applications
  • Regular reports and good documentation of work

Job Requirements: 

  • PhD in Material Science and related fields
  • Good record of publications and IPs
  • Familiar with standard methods of characterization of materials and photovoltaic cells
  • Experience with wet chemical synthesis or hydrometallurgy
  • Experience with green solvents (ionic liquids etc…) is advantageous
  • Experience in materials recycling is advantageous
  • Energetic, proactive, results-oriented, and self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills
  • A target-oriented, structured attitude and team spirit are required
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English are required.
  • Being adept at planning, prioritizing, multi-tasking, organizing, following through, and thinking on his/her feet is ideal

About Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF)

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
