Central European University (CEU) is seeking candidates for a faculty (assistant, associate or full professor) position in Organizational Psychology or closely related field as a joint appointment at the Department of Economics and Business (ECONBUS) (0.75 FTE) and the Department of Cognitive Science (COGSCI) (0.25 FTE) in Vienna. CEU offers internationally competitive teaching loads, research resources and a university environment that fosters multidisciplinary collaboration and research productivity. A successful candidate for a senior position will have the opportunity to provide leadership in doctoral business education, in both the existing PhD in Business Administration program and new potential programs as well as contribute to the Leadership Program within the existing CEU Executive MBA.

Requirements
We are seeking a scholar and educator with expertise in quantitative organizational psychology who can deliver world class executive education in the field of leadership and organizational behaviour, as well as offer state-of-the-art doctoral-level methodological training in quantitative empirical methods in management.

Candidate Attributes
Applicants must be qualified to teach at graduate level, including at the doctoral level, demonstrate scholarly research activities and be committed to service to university, profession and community. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in the relevant field at date of appointment.

For a senior position, the successful applicants will possess:

  • A demonstrated record of and commitment to scholarly research in the field, through publications in ranked (impact-factor) peer-reviewed journals;
  • Clear evidence of teaching excellence, course and curriculum development;
  • Demonstrated experience of teaching in executive education;
  • Interest in bridging more basic research conducted at COGSCI and parts of ECONBUS with the applied professional training within the EMBA program.

For a junior position, the successful applicants will possess: 

  • Clear potential and commitment to scholarly research in the field, through a demonstrated pipeline of working papers and/or papers under revise and resubmit in ranked (impact factor) peer-reviewed journals;
  • Evidence of teaching excellence and course development. Experience in executive education will be a plus.
  • Proven ability to combine intensive research with involvement in program development.
  • Interest in bridging more basic research conducted at COGSCI and parts of ECONBUS with the applied professional training within the EMBA program.

Compensation
We offer a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. The initial contract is for 6 years; continued employment depends on outcome of review in case of Assistant Professor rank. The initial contract is up to 4 years (renewable) for the Associate Professor rank or indefinite term in case of Full Professor rank.
