012570 UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2, UCD School Mathematics and Statistics, Temporary 2 year post

The UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking to recruit a post-doctoral researcher with experience in statistical modelling, high-dimensional data and related computational skills. This is a temporary, 2-year Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 post funded by the Science Foundation Ireland Insight Centre for Data Analytics (www.insight-centre.org). The Insight Centre for Data Analytics is one of Europe's largest data analytics research organisations, with 400+ researchers, more than 80 industry partners and over €100 million of funding. Insight is funded by Science Foundation Ireland, and is made up of four main centres: Insight@DCU, Insight@NUI Galway, Insight@UCC and Insight@UCD as well as a number of affiliated bodies.

The successful candidate will develop statistical learning methods and inferential techniques for detecting biomarkers in vibrational spectra. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team, working towards the early diagnosis of neurological disease. The research is conducted in collaboration with researchers from the UCD School of Physics, the UCD Centre for Physics in Health and Medicine and medical and clinical experts from St. Vincent's University Hospital. This is an opportunity to develop cutting edge statistical research-based solutions to real-world problems as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Salary range: €37,871 - €40,221 per annum (PD1)
or
Salary range: €45,041 - €46,337) per annum (PD2)

Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
