Griffith University is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic with senior leadership experience to the Executive Group as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education) (DVCE).

With campuses spanning five locations across south east Queensland, Griffith University is ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide. It is recognised for high impact research, outstanding student experience, commitment to social justice and its welcoming environment.

Reporting to the Provost, the DVCE has executive responsibility for the University's teaching and learning strategy, student life and experience, curriculum and program coordination, strategy and design. As such, the role leads the development and implementation of the University's best practice programs and strategies across the entire student life-cycle. The DVCE contributes to the effective management of the University by participating in planning and decision making and by providing specialist advice and support to the Vice Chancellor and the Provost. Finally, the DVCE will lead a high performing team, have budgetary responsibilities for their portfolio and represent the university externally as appropriate.

Suitable candidates will demonstrate a track record of academic leadership experience, with a proven record of achievement in engaging with and leading diverse, senior teams in the delivery of educational goals, objectives and programs. They will possess deep knowledge and understanding of contemporary and innovative learning and teaching and student life issues and trends in the Australian higher education sector. Furthermore, they will have oversight of the broader global higher education context and have the ability to apply these perspectives to strategies, best practice programs and approaches. Importantly, they will share, demonstrate and uphold the strong values of the University.
