Description

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Chicago invites applications for positions at the rank of Assistant Instructional Professor.  Appointments at this rank are for a term of one or two years with the possibility of renewal. The relationship between Assistant Instructional Professors and the University is governed by a  Service Employees International Union Collective Bargaining Agreement. Position responsibilities include teaching up to six courses per year, contributions to the effective functioning of departmental programs of instruction, and ongoing professional development. Starting salaries are expected to be at least $70,000 per year. Screening will begin December 10, 2019, and will continue until all available positions are filled.

Qualifications

Completion of a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a closely related field is required prior to the start of appointment. You should be qualified to teach a range of undergraduate courses in mathematics including single and multivariable calculus, and linear algebra.
