TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research-Langer Laboratory (2 openings), to join a highly multidisciplinary team in the Langer Laboratory as part of the Analytical Chemistry team. Responsibilities will include HPLC, LC/MS, NMR, GCMS, and IR; supporting medicinal chemistry efforts in the lab; project planning; reagent procurement and record-keeping; chemical waste monitoring and collection; autoclaving solvents; and ensuring that others comply with established standards, regulations, and laboratory procedures. May train new users in equipment operation and train and coordinate the work of lower-level staff, student employees, and/or temporary staff. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  B.S. (M.S. preferred) in a relevant scientific field (i.e., biochemistry, chemistry, biology); at least two years’ specialized experience (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate) with analytical chemistry; chromatography and mass spectrometry experience; experience working with and maintaining technical instruments/equipment; ability to multitask and organize multiple experiments and work assignments simultaneously and work both independently and as part of a team; strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills; and awareness of basic safety issues and ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Job #18594
