At TU Dresden, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Institute of Semiconductors and Microsystems, the Chair of Microsystems offers a position as

Research Associate / Postdoc

 in microfluidics, micro- and soft-robotics

(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible for 36 months with the option of an extension of up to three more years of employment. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (e.g. habilitation).

Tasks: The chair covers the area of microsystems technology in research and teaching. A particular focus is on novel microsystems, which are based on the use of the special properties of intrinsically active organic and polymeric materials. Your teaching activities include the preparation and implementation of teaching tasks in microsystems technology, microfluidics, micro- and soft robotics as well as materials in nano- / microelectronics. Your research focuses on technologies for the production of polymeric microsystems, microfluidic, micro- and soft robotic structures and their components with lithographic and printing methods, as well as the design of polymeric microsystems. Your work also includes the guidance and support of students and doctoral students as well as laboratory responsibilities.

Requirements: above-average scientific university degree and doctorate in the fields of electrical engineering, microsystems technology, materials science or related fields and several years of experience in technology and product development as well as in microsystems technology and in the areas of synthesis and characterisation of intrinsically active polymers; experience in at least three areas of microsystems technology, microfluidics, microtechnologies, micro-robotics, soft robotics, chemical and bioanalytics, information processing; ability to work independently, goal-oriented and high commitment; good English conversation skills as well as joy and interest in practice-oriented, interdisciplinary cooperation with partners and in dealing with students.
