Level A, Step 6 ($88,286) per annum plus an employer contribution of 9.5% superannuation will apply.

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the area of optimisation and evolutionary computing within the Optimisation and Logistics group. The candidate should have a strong research profile in the area of algorithms and optimisation and a strong publication record in the area of artificial intelligence and evolutionary computing. The successful candidate will develop new optimization and evolutionary computing techniques and work on understanding them from a theoretical perspective.

You will have a strong work ethic and the ability to work well independently and as a member of a broader team. You will also demonstrate a commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.

To be successful you will need:

  • Have or be about to complete a PhD in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Strong background on evolutionary computation and optimisation, preferable on the theoretical analysis of evolutionary algorithms.
  • A good publication record commensurate with experience and opportunity
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work efficiently and collaboratively within a team
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, with an ability to communicate scientific ideas to an expert audience, both orally and written
