We are seeking a Research Associate to join the newly established lab of Dr Bernadette Carroll. The project will employ in vitro and in vivo (in zebrafish) approaches (including protein biochemistry, confocal and live-imaging, molecular biology and quantitative proteomic analysis) to investigate the mechanisms of mTORC1 dysregulation in cellular senescence. The funds for this position are available for 3 years in the first instance and jointly provided by The Wellcome Trust and Royal Society.

The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team working within a thriving community of cell biology research labs working on various aspects of membrane dynamics and cell signalling. A PhD (awarded or imminent, or equivalent professional qualification/experience) in a relevant field is essential, as is research experience in a molecular cell biology/biochemistry lab environment.  Previous knowledge of mTORC1 signalling, autophagy and/or cellular senescence is highly desirable.

For informal enquiries please contact Bernadette Carroll, +44 (0)117 331 2194, bernadette.carroll@bristol.ac.uk. Applicants are strongly advised to contact Bernadette Carroll to discuss the project prior to completing the application.

We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
