About the role:

This is an outstanding opportunity for a successful mid-career epilepsy clinician scientist to head the internationally recognised Austin Health Comprehensive Program following the retirement from clinical duties of Professor Sam Berkovic AC FRS, and to do high level research and teaching in the University of Melbourne Department of Medicine and Radiology at Austin Health. Research activities may integrate with the ongoing internationally leading genetics and brain imaging research on the campus or be in a complementary field. The relationships at the Austin campus and with other Melbourne groups working in epilepsy is highly collaborative providing great opportunities for an emerging or established leader to make a great impact.

About you:

You should hold relevant qualifications such as Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Physicians or equivalent, been awarded a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (or possess qualifications that will enable registration).

You should have a demonstrated strong track record of leadership and in providing clinical care to patients with epilepsy in both ambulatory and in-hospital settings, EEG and video-monitoring skills, as well as expertise in general neurology.
