Lancaster University Management School is seeking to appoint a full-time, 2 year fixed-term Research Associate to join the Entrepreneurship & Strategy Department.  LUMS has built a 24-year reputation for research of outstanding quality. We are looking for a Research Associate to join the School’s inspiring research culture. The work is to support a two-year ‘Department of Digital Culture Media and Sport’ sponsored project to develop a digital infrastructure for rural communities. You will be closely supported by the academic lead. You will collaborate with project partners to develop measures of impact with the communities that will shape the way the research team will put in place and work to make use of digital connectivity. You will also be involved in the development of the commercial case for rural broadband and mobile connectivity, and for the use cases that each aim to improve the socio-economic lives of these communities.

The post will require travel to North Yorkshire to conduct fieldwork. Research activities and engagement with the project members and the communities the project is working with will be an important part of your activities. You will be expected to participate in knowledge dissemination activities and to be a key part of the Department’s research and engagement community.

You will join a team comprising academics, third sector and mainstream organisations, working collaboratively with our partners. You will be joining an inspiring research setting that will integrate you into the project and also supports you in developing your own research profile.

The Faculty provides a research environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee, promoting a healthy work-life balance. We are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis, as well as the Athena SWAN Charter, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.

This post is offered on a fixed term basis for two years commencing by agreement.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
